Description

Fantastic page (p15) from one of my favorite Don Rosa treasure-hunt stories, “The Quest for Kalevala” (1999), which is based upon the finish national epos the “Kalevala”...for more information please visit Matti Eronen’s wonderful CAF gallery...
This is from the sequence where Scrooge & Donald travel to the underworld (Tuonela) to retrieve the missing part of the Sampo. This page has a major appearance of Death (Tuoni)…Disney comics don’t get much scarier than this… :-)
As far as I know this is the only Don Rosa (original art) story that is not lettered in English (some stories are not lettered at all), but in finish (by the original finish letterer). As it was first published in Finland and is based upon their national Epos, this seems only fitting.

The level of work by Rosa is amazing! No rest in creating pages like this that turned heads and the course of Disney comics.
