I LOVE this! The mystery and suspense so thick you could cut it with a knife. Is the picture true to life? It appears to have had something spilled on it at some point? I have a scan of it which makes it look much more vibrant and barely shows condition issues, so I wonder which one represents the original art more truthfully....

Nothing was spilled on it, just the way canvas and canvas board comes out when you scan it. I was still looking for my other image when I posted it and just found it and changed it. I love his work for these covers and he captured the women's startled look in their eyes like no one else i've seen. She is so beautiful to me.

How the shadow of the curtain hits part of the eye is unique and presented so well. The softness and the curious persona all come through the image.
