Medieval Spawn / Witchlade #3 Pg. 14 by Michael Turner and D-Tron Featuring Lord Cardinale (First published Darkness bearer)

I'm really very excited about this page. I got to know Michael Turner at Top Cow Studios many years ago. He was always a really great guy and I have some fond memories. Throughout all the time I've known him, and the time I've collected comic art thereafter, I've only had one single sketch he did for me at the cow one time. Of course, I've always wanted Darkness work from him, but there isn't much out there, and when you find it, it is extremely expensive.

Lord Cardinale was the first published bearer of the Darkness. The series he was in was more or less by Brandon Peterson, but again, those pages are rare to come by and expensive when you do.

When I saw this page for sale I was really excited. It was a great sample of Michael Turner's work featuring this early Darkness bearer in a great splash page which also featured Medieval Witchblade and Medieval Spawn.

I honestly didn't think I'd afford it, but bid my highest possible price. Its honestly more than I could afford, but I bid early which then left it up to chance because others would have plenty of time to outbid me. When the bidding ended, I won for my highest price to the exact amount. I guess it was meant to be. One for the history books.
