DescriptionCLICK HERE FOR AUCTION LISTING!10.5x16" thin art board featuring original pencil art by noted comic book artist Curt Swan (1920-1996), best known as the artist most associated w/Superman titles during the period fans and historians call the Silver Age of comic books. Swan produced hundreds of covers and stories from the 1950s through the 1980s. Offered here is the original art for page 26 of "Superman" #290, published by N.P.P. in August 1975. Issue was written by Jim Shooter w/interior art by Curt Swan and inks by Tex Blaisdell. Storyline "Babble, Babble, Toil And Trouble! " Five panel page shows Superman and Mr. Mxyzptlk (in a beret and a turban) w/context that language keeps changing on earth making it impossible for his name to be spoken forward or backward. N.P.P. copyright stamp on back. Scattered handling wear/aging. Aged tape at right side, top and at bottom. One type cut-in. Signed by Curt Swan. VF. Social/Sharing |
