DescriptionAs with the Hulk vs Wolverine piece, I had stared at this one for years. I have the prior page to this and always wanted to add this one as I loved the middle image. I'm thrilled to have gotten it. Again, thanks to Kwan for making this piece happen for me.Social/Sharing |

Congrats, Anthony, on this epic pick up. Just like you, I regularly visited Kwan's site to look at this beauty, and am happy now to loiter around your gallery to take it in. :) This one just has a bit of everything; excellent action-storytelling, Leinil's breathtaking pencil detail (I just LOVE the texture on the tentacle reaching up for Hulk in panel 2), a splashy image of the Hulk and Attuma (with more beautiful tentacles), and - my VERY favorite - the vertical panel 4, which not only provides a dark background against which the right side of panel 3's splashy image can achieve definition, but also serves to underscore the size of the players and scope of the scene as the mighty Hulk is pulled, so effortlessly, down, down, down....
A BRILLIANT page from a master comics technician in the great Leinil Yu. So glad you pulled the trigger and are posting this here, so that those of us who foolishly passed on it (and are now face-palming) can still enjoy it. :) Simply superb - Congrats, Anthony!

Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you also enjoy it. I have always thought Leinil's work on this series and the Wolverine vs Hulk series was severely underrated. And as for the face-palming... well, I think all of us have pieces that we now see in other galleries that we have the same reaction to.

Great page. Always thought that Indestructible Hulk was some of Yu's best interior work to date, and pages like this are evidence of why. Some FINE lines here, as well as some killer rendering. Yu's mean with the graphite :) And such presence in that shot of Attuma. Congrats!

Mark Waid has a way about putting characters he writes in less conventional situations. I love the idea of Hulk underwater. Versus Attuma. And tentacles strong enough to grapple the Hulk. This is such an awesome page.
Thanks for sharing this Yu goodness on CAF!
