DescriptionAction page from the Sgt. Rock story "Burning Soldier", published in the February 1983 issue. All of Kubert's finished art is drawn on overlays. The only overlay missing is from the grenade on the far left of the first panel. It would appear that Kubert either pencilled or partially pencilled the story and another artist inked most of the page before Kubert taped paper over the previous work and finished the art himself.Social/Sharing |

This is great! It is fascinating to see the differences. Kubert obviously did a better job inking, but I liked it better with the Nazi's mouth open. Congratulations on a terrific page of art!

Nice classroom piece where you can study the structure of the Kubert storytelling and compare differences of the published and unpublished.
