DescriptionIt seems to be Art Adams month here on CAF so I thought I'd jump in with a piece still wet with ink - over the moon to have squeaked onto Mr Adams' 'virtual' New Orleans list.Edge to edge magic! When you see it in person, you can't believe this force of nature is being contained onto a 9x12 piece of paper. The light touch on the background really forces the Big G right at ya, and look at those eyes - he's hungry... Social/Sharing |

Actually, April is Art Adams month. But I'm fine making every month Art Adams month. LOL! Great piece! Love how he gave the character more....."character" by making his face more grizzled than what we're used to seeing. Congrats ML!

Old Galan looks like he has a very tasty planet in his sights. Adams gives us a glimpse of personality behind the cosmic force that is Galactus. I could add that this piece is amazing, fantastic, stunning, powerful, etc., but I'd just be stating the obvious. Huge congrats on this!

Hey, don't look at me, Galan...I didn't leave the fridge open! MUST FEED! This is a sweet Galactus commission by AA, and a pretty nifty trick on your part to get one. Gorgeous work, as he does. And that look is fantastic. I'll be posting an Art Adams piece next week, too. Heh, we all synchronized our purchases! Great get, ML. Congrats!

Once in your life you find him
Someone that wears a big purple crown
And next thing you know he's eating down the town
Sign up on Insta with you
Even though you live way across town
Wondering to yourself, "Hey, merry-go-round?"
When you commission between the Moon and New Or-leans
The list is crazy, but IG's true
If you sign up between the Moon and New Or-leans

The best that you can do is fall in love

It is not often that I feel some artist has done one up on Kirby, but I think AA has in this case. This is a truely scary Galactus. And I love AA addition to Kirby Krackle. Congrats.

This has a hint of pop art and Tradd in it, to my eye. That planet eating grimace and 1000 yard stare are piercing! Love all the accessories including the windshield wiper doodads. Adams's Galactus has personality to burn

Galactus hungers...and Kirby Krackle aint gonna provide sustenance for long. Golden Corral doesn't stand a chance.

Normally when I comment on something, I choose a favorite element or technique to highlight. I just can’t do that here. There’s too much to love. Congrats, ML.

Thank you, Sir! Based on the last couple of shows, I think I've found the secret sauce that coats the tasty morsels that find their way to your heart. I really want you to have that hacksaw Miller one day.

Cosmic Adams is is a bit of an oxymoron, yet it works fantastically here!

This set of commissions certainly exceeded expectations and that is saying something for Art Adams. This is among the best in the group. Congrats and thanks for sharing!

Outstanding. Love the subtle white spatter, particularly on this right shoulder, and the Krackle done in looser marker/ink is a nice touch, giving some contrast. Profile with a turned head is a great choice. Those eyes take it over the top, darkened in, and of course looking down at whatever cretin he's looking down at. Congrats, man!

Intergalactic pick up, M L! My first thought, just as you wrote, was the lighter colored Kirby Krackle, and how that throws Galactus at you, full force. Great technique, and Mr. Adams doesn't waste the moment by crafting a Galactus that feels eternal. VERY striking. And I'm trying to figure out the purpose of the "streetlights" posted above his (incredibly rendered) eyes... Maybe adding the bright "mood lighting" on his mask there (can you imagine seeing only those eyes coming at you out of the inky depths of space when there aren't any other light sources around?), or doubling as "windshield wipers" when travelling through the inevitable cosmic storm... Beautiful work, M L! Congrats on making it onto Art's list and for making the most of that amazing opportunity!

Love it! I didn't think Adams would do Galactus on these commissions. He would be my first choice as well. Congrats!
