this original art is from #marvelcomics� �conan the barbarian: death covered in gold�, no.3, page 7, september 1999, which was the late luminary #johnbuscema�s return and last foray into #robertehoward�s barbarian character; moreover, this publication was part of a 3-issue mini series written by the legend #roythomas;

buscema�s first conan work was �conan the barbarian� no.25, january 1973; although he did illustrate conan on the cover of �savage tales� no.1 in may 1971;

all the interior pages for this mini series were penciled and inked by buscema; usually his conan pencil work had mostly been inked by other industry greats, #erniechan #rudynebres and #danadkins to name a few; so, a solo buscema complete rendering is rare, where this is also signed and complete with a slew of supporting #hyborian characters that only he can illustrate;

this page is an evocation of my childhood upbringing in the sequential-art medium; i fondly recall i was about 13 yo when i purchased the first issue of conan at a lcs in winnipeg, manitoba; and was followed by many purchases of other issues of the title, including other related products such as books and art prints;

reliving our childhood experiences can be a reminder of our fun-filled past and how that reaffirms our current social being; nostalgia is why we bond with high-school friends, rewatch movies that we�ve seen in the past, and keep items with sentimental values;

props to oa dealer #romitaman aka#mikeburkey for listening to my price haggling in the late evening hours, and for safely shipping the piece to me; and last but not least, kudos to #billcox of #comicartfans for reigniting the oa industry and building its community
