DescriptionA while ago, I had spotted Manuel Garcia’s amazing art on CAF. That set me up for a search on his website for a commission list (which was not open at the time), but it did land me my first Double Page Splash featuring Spider-Man (and a lot of his villains). When buying that piece, I promised Manuel that I’d come back for a commission – as I had seen a specific Batman piece that’s stayed in my mind ever since.Fast forward to February 2022 when Manuel opened up his list and I jumped on it for a Daredevil piece. He mentioned it could take a couple of months, but after only two weeks, he already pinged me back with this amazing finished commission. Today, 11th of March, it arrived from Spain, here in Belgium. My eyes lit up when opening the package: the lovely piece was accompanied by a print of that specific Batman piece I had spoken to Manuel about last year. I instantly knew I had to get another spot and am now again on his waiting list for a next piece. But a bit more about this piece… What stands out about Manuel’s work to me, is his clear, confident lines, dynamism & heavy inks, especially fitting characters like Batman or Daredevil. It’s no surprise that he’s been working on Zdarsky’s Daredevil run at Marvel, which inspired me for my commission choice. Aside from the typical Hell’s Kitchen background and NYC rooftops, I love the atypical pose and shading on his costume. Size is 11x17. Social/Sharing |

Cover worthy shot of DD! Magno's been doing some unreal work, both published and non-published of late, and this is right up there. Great pose, and love the shadowing of his right hand and face! Congrats!

Thanks, man! I've been loving his recent published work and it's great to see him get all this recent attention again! But it's definitely true that his commissions are top tier, as well!

The rain is a fantastic way to create mood and heighten the kinetic feel of the piece! The classic Hell's Kitchen setting conjures up some of Daredevil's finest visuals through the years.

And I dare say this one is up there in terms of Daredevil commissions! Manuel's work is top tier.

By the way, I followed Manuel at his Instagram feed and he opend his commission list again. Just jumped on it and got a nice prelim one day later.

Don't know how I missed this one. Absolutely PHENOMENAL PIECE!!!!! Probably one of the very best DD pieces I've seen in a decade, bar none. The figure work is extraordinary. And as you already mentioned, the backgrounds are incredible. Especially the work on the water towers. Now, I really, really, love rain shots. But they can be pretty tricky. And when you have a piece this good, one might think, why risk compromising it with additional hatch lines when it's already perfect? But luckily he pulled it off, and made an already brilliant piece even more special. Congratulations on this beauty. You are probably the envy of every DD fan on CAF.
