It's been a long time since I added any new art to the collection. So, what better to do than add a spectacular piece that's been on my wishlist for a long time!

I've loved this comic since I first got my hands on it! I was actually drawn in seeing the art nearly two years ago. It peaked my interest, that then turned into, let's get the hardcover, which in turn led me to chase down all parts of the series.

It's originally a French BD, but unlike some comics like Kogaratsu (which is not really available in English, though thankfully you can find it in Dutch), Izuna is available in English. As most French comics, there is more focus on the storytelling, so there is considerably more text in the comic than the typical US comics. However, if you are a fan of samurai, feudal Japan and fantasy elements I'd highly recommend picking it up!

I didn't realize it before, but while searching for the art I found several people who own art on 2D Galleries (a very popular site like CAF in France), but didn't think much of it. Later, when going back in for another search I realized that the artist herself actually had an account on 2D, so I approached her. She was very friendly and passed me on the info for her agent and I followed up.

After several e-mails, a lot of translating between English and French, and some confusion on page numbers, I now own this beautiful page from the comic. One of my favorites!

The art is actually two A3 boards, which together make up the page (A2 size).

The details and colouring is fantastic and I can't be more thrilled to add this piece to my collection!
