DescriptionMiller's Dark Knight was a groundbreaking comic event back in 1986. I still remember being blown away by Miller's pencils and Janson's inks but also by Varley's coloring. When the opportunity arose to get Lynn's hand painted color guide to the cover to issue #2, I jumped at the chance.Lynn Varley painted work with the Miller/Janson lines on an acetate overlay. Iconic. I love the Varley color pieces and for my money this is the best one out there. Frank's lines left a lot of room for Varley to work and she really took advantage of it. Huge congrats!

I love Lynn Varley's color work. She brought a fresh eye to the art of coloring, in many ways as innovative as Frank's layouts were. This cover is, or course, an absolutely stunning example of her paints. Hats off to you on acquiring this one!

Such an incredible cover! Could you tell me if that is a transparency for the inked art that is layed over the colors?

Yes. Ink on acetate which overlays the art.
