Great likeness despite the extreme color and tonal contrast everywhere. Crazy color and texture choices but it works!
Fantastic Bowie and a claim by your wife? Sometimes we lose when we win!
Super cool!
High praise indeed! When my wife lets me bring stuff out of my nerd cave, and into the Civilized portion of the house, I get a warm, happy feeling. And what a cool Bowie piece! I love when an artist upends the "proper" color palette. and doing it over that value mapping (I made that up, not sure of the term :)) is super cool. Sweet score. Congrats! (If your wife lets you have it back)
That's incredibly cool! I love the depiction and the expression, and the color work is just amazing. Normally I'd say "congrats" for one, but it seems like this is congrats for both of you! I apologize in advance for saying you'll both probably shout "Let's Dance" well into your "Golden Years" everytime you see it.
Bold. Look M L Bowie is amazing subject matter to work with so if the artist isn't inspired.... but hey no problems here. I can't think of another artist that would've approached Bowie with these colour flourishes. Branded originality I can see it as Bowie the alien-man post chaos of the battle for control of that human form. The wife snagged it? That's awesome ha ha. Happy wife happy art collectig life.
This piece would stop me dead in my tracks anywhere I saw it. The technique shows a supreme understanding of the medium. Outrageous and beyond brilliant. All that's left for me to say is WOW!
Wifey was like, "OK, that' mine" :) I can see why. Man the colors must be SUBLIME in person. Congrats, M!
