DescriptionThe Right Hand of Doom, from Eranga’s right hand of BOOM. The second piece I picked up from him, because everybody knows that two Erangas DO make a right! :)A jaw-dropping piece which speaks to the power of finding something that excites an artist and then scrambling out of their way as quickly as possible. I find the whole piece enthralling, but Hellboy's right arm kills me here, grasping the tentacle with the shredded trenchcoat… and then the thumb and finger indentations in the tentacle...? Just... dang. An incredible use of negative space (which I absolutely LOVE). An 11x17 terror! Eranga, I can't thank you enough, man. These pieces are beautiful. Reach out to Eranga TODAY and get on his list! Social/Sharing |

The interplay of red and black is so striking. And love those little touches of white. Amazing work!

Thanks, Eric! When I started thinking about characters I hadn't seen E draw before - ones that would really pop in his silhouette style - it was your gorgeous Nebres Hellboy piece that popped into my head (with its amazing colors) and made me suggest Hellboy as a possibility to Eranga. I am so grateful he was excited to try it. Thanks for the comment, Eric (and for posting your beautiful Nebres piece! :) )!

Wow, that is killer! Some might even say BETTER than Mignola! Yes, Mignola nuthuggers, I'm just trying to get a rise out of you, relax. But seriously, it looks like the Best Newcomer of 2021 award winner is striving to become the Best Sophmore of 2022 award winner!

Erangattack and Hussanator, Artist and Commissioner, Brothers-in-Arms giving us a Hellboy to remember.
Easily prefer this over all those static, colorless pieces... this is Dynamism, coiled energy!

You got that right, Steve; "Dynamism" is spot-on! When my spots on Eranga's list came up, I had another choice originally. When he told me he'd already drawn that character (and was happy to do so again), I started trying to think of something he may not have tackled before, but that would still work in the context of this fantastic technique he employs. Hellboy was the first thing that came to mind, and it really lit a fire under Eranga - he had finished the piece in about 24 hours later! It was amazing, and I feel honored to display it. Thanks, always, Steve, for the comments!

I'm a huge fan of E's silhouette pieces, and this may be my favorite yet (aside from the She-Hulk that he did for me). Fabulous!

Thanks, Michael - that is very high praise indeed, as Eranga's work is so striking. I have MANY favorites of his on CAF (and feel very fortunate to count this one among that number)! Your She-Hulk is definitely one of them, too! Thanks, Michael (and everyone) for the great comments; Eranga absolutely deserves them.

Many-many-many-more hours to show
Eranga he created
Hellboy for you, show off that vision
Mignola should approve it
Just, get me to the artwork, look at paper grain
Swirly, swirly, swirly, the inks are all insane
I tentacle my fingers, I can't control my brain
Oh no, oh-oh oh-oh
Many-many-plenty more hours to show
Eranga silhouetted
Drawings to do, commissions take home
We all should be elated
He did not use a T-square, viewer's depth of plane
Swirly, swirly, swirly, his talent entertains
Negative space my renders, I can't control red stain
Oh no, oh-oh oh-oh

POW! Hellboy never looked so cool. I so dig Eranga's negative/silhouette work like this. The image is there, and masterfully done, but it also leaves interpretive space for your imagination. And the little choices like the bright white for eyes and teeth just take it to another level. Very cool, Jason. Congrats!

Another silhouette winner by Mr. Devasurendra! Nice sense of movement with the tentacles, and it's cool they're in black along with Hellboy's coat, shorts, boots, and hair :) And you HAD to go with a red background, right?!! The subtle yet stark pops of white in the eyes and teeth close out a killer piece. Congrats, Jason!

I love a piece where it takes a second to figure out what's going on!! Eranga does great work and is fantastic to deal with.

This is really special, even for Devasurendra. Love the shapes and balance of the piece, and it reads!
