Description

Yet another of the Finlay sketches doing the rounds these days. There's a warmth and sensitivity here I find very appealing.

On the other hand, if she were wearing a space helmet, it would be worth 10 times more than what I paid. The art market is a funny old thing.

Wonderful softness in the pencils in a symbolically round theme of warmth in the mother and child embrace that has lots of dimension and weight.

It would be worth even more if she were wearing one of the ridiculous 'spacesuits' or skimpy outfits ladies wore in pulp art at the time. He had a sensitive line in everything he did.
