I enjoyed the Mark Trail comic strip when I was a kid, and this is a nice representation. And I like geese. One panel from the daily strip of 11/27/75, about 7X9. Ed Dodd's partial signature is visible.
Purchased from James Allen, who worked on the Mark Trail strip for 10 years.

My name is James Allen. I created the internationally syndicated comic strip Mark Trail for ten years (4 assisting Jack Elrod, 6 on my own). When Jack retired, he gave me all of his Mark Trail collection. Among the items in the collection, were stacks of ORIGINAL art for the daily strips Ed Dodd created. Some of the strips were cleanly cut into sections (I have no idea why).
** STRAIGHT FROM JACK ELROD'S "DUCK & GEESE FOLDER"**
In which Jack stored clippings from daily strips, Sunday's and tips of all kinds of water fowl in every pose imaginable!
Each item is an individual piece cut from the original daily comic strip which ran in hundreds of papers nationwide, including the Washington Post. Each one is hand-drawn, black and white art on art board measuring 7" tall, and the width varies from piece to piece. Everything is hand-drawn, including the dialogue/lettering except for the copyright sticker (which is a small adhesive label supplied by the publisher.). Some bear Ed Dodd's signature, or the date, or the copyright sticker.

what a cool piece of comic strip history here. even a single panel from a childhood favorite is an absolute great deal. it's too bad this piece will get lost in the caf shuffle due to it not being a mainstream piece, but i enjoy stuff like this.
