Description

Yes, that's the lovely Julie Bell wearing a seashell bikini riding on the back of the seahorse (hippocampus). Because it was created out of the ocean waves, the hippocampus symbolizes the power and beauty of the sea as well as the connection to the Greek gods and mermaids – the sea nymphs (naiads) – who looked over the ocean and saved drowning people with them. 20 x 26" Oils on illustration board. Used as the cover for The Fabulous Women of Boris Vallejo & Julie Bell, published by Collins Design in 2006.
