The Batman by Chris Samnee

That's a nice one by Samnee!!  It looks as if Alex Ross was doing his version of Alex Toth doing Batman.

You hit the nail on the head with the Alex Toth comparison. 

This is one of those thank you sketches you get when you buy art from Samnee if it has the printed note on the back.  It is very rare these days as are opportunities to buy direct from him.  His art drops go fast and his output through the past few years has slowed down since his regular gig on Firepower takes up his time.  This is one of the most complex ones with the shadows and light at play to demonstrate what Samnee is best known for.

Very nice use of shadows and darkness. Very cool !

This gives me Alex Toth vibes.  Awesome piece!

It does have that A lev Toth feel and look.
