Description

Nathan Gooden has been turning out some amazing work in Barbaric and The Rush from Vault Comics. When I saw his commission list was open, I had to jump at the opportunity. He was a pleasure to work with and was very fast. He has a classic take on Batman and Carrie Kelley. It's always fun to see how artists play with the scale difference between the two characters. I'd recommend seeking him out!

The light wash color is just awesome and has a great impact on depth along with the bright white of the lightning and black background.

You mentioned the scale difference – I also like the dark versus colorful, wizened versus youthful, and left versus right contrasts. A great piece!

I agree about all the contrasts! That's a big reason I love Carrie Kelley as Robin - the contrast between Robin and this grizzled Batman is more extreme than the regular continuity can achieve.
