CLICK HERE FOR AUCTION LISTING!16-3/8x22" artboard has pen and ink original art for June 5, 1955 Sunday page. Art is by Al Taliaferro (1905-1969), who worked on a number of Disney comic strips during his long career and drew the Donald Duck daily strips and Sunday pages from 1939 until his death in 1969. Sunday page features 12 panels, featuring Donald Duck taking drive to country to paint landscape until a cow arrives and eats his paintbrush, causing Donald to improvise and paint w/the cow's tail. Donald appears in all but one panel, another showing just his arm. First panel has aged title stat and last panel bears Taliaferro's "Walt Disney" signature and date. Second to last panel has KFS copyright strip. Last panel also has some glue staining to cow, likely from a now missing correction paste-over. Top margin has faint "Donald Duck - By Walt Disney" printed text and faint blue pencil publication information. Aged printer registration labels in left/right margins. Additional printer inkstamps on back. Artboard has some aging and scattered handling wear w/some staining at upper right corner. Left margin has .25x2" strip of surface paper left, only affecting panel border. Fine overall, but could be matted and framed for nice display.
