Description

This page caught my eye when I saw it. It's a fun story about Jughead's hat blowing off his head in the wind and winding up in a hat store. It catches the eye of a rich patron who asks to try it on. The store clerk tells Jughead that if she buys it, then everyone will want one. Jughead ponders the idea and on this last payoff page in the story, we see his answer. As a collector of older Archie art, I was very happy to add this Samm Schwartz beauty to my collection.

As usual with these vintage Archie pages, great fun! It's funny that Jughead would be portrayed as being so vain that he decides he actually cares about standning out with his, er, unique fashion sense. Because I always took him for a guy who would have loved it if everyone else began wearing the same crown he always has on!
