DescriptionRich and I have been buddies, pals and convention traveling companions for close to twenty years... although there's an ongoing debate about which of us is the con wife. He's always loved to draw, and he used to send me gag drawings about our con adventures when we first started traveling together. They bring back good memories and make me laugh to this day. Somewhere along the line we grew up and Rich quit his 9 to 5 to pursue the life of an artist. And I went from con-wife to booth boy on our trips, hocking prints of Rich's drawings to fellow art lovers. His most popular prints are mashups of Calvin & Hobbes. Whether it's a scene from Star Wars, an iconic comic book cover, or some other pop culture piece of nostalgia, commissioners come his way to see him combine these things they love with the brilliance of Watterson's boy and his tiger. However, before his mashups became a thing, he drew this piece for fun. I wanted it the moment I saw it, so I asked if I could buy this one from him. Of course he said yes... as long as I paid full price! No friends and family discount I guess. LOL. In all seriousness, while most fans get to see two of their favorite things mashed together when they commission Rich, I get the added bonus of remembering all the fun times we've had together whenever I gaze at this gem. And I look forward to many more trips to come. Social/Sharing |

There's no debate.
Well I'm certainly not gonna win a physical altercation if we decide it that way! Lol

Forget con wife. Who's Chewie and who's Han?

The story makes this piece so much more than just the terrific art. Thank you for sharing that.
