DescriptionAs I've been building out my UXM collection, I've been looking for a vintage Silvestri page to add to the collection. I was able to partner with my trading partner in Europe (Thanks Sylvain!) to bring this page home to the US.Setup: The X-men are in Dallas, TX and run into the Freedom Force. A rift in time causes barbarians to flood into the city. Panel 1 -Barbarians pour in through the time rift where they are met with a ranger barricade. Panel 2 - Blam Blam, budda Budda, eeooeeooo - they are overrun! Panel 3 - It's getting hopeless. Panel 4 - Super Sabre to the rescue, he uses his sonic boom to knock some of the baddies down. Panel 5 - Cut to Wolverine. "You've had your fun gents, you want to quit while you are ahead..." Panel 6 - "or play rough" Panel 7 (def the money panel of this page) "Your Choice." SNIKT (Signed by Marc at the bottom) Enjoy - color scan in the alt images Social/Sharing |

It's cool and all, but that last panel "chef's kiss!"

Just wait till the barbarians pull out a big magnet, rendering Wolverine useless, then put a wire out which lops something important off the geriatric speedster. Did that happen? Wait, I did not write it. It would have been more fun. The art is nice. Read the comics at the time. The art was much better than the stories.

Disagree! I recently reread these issues and for this fan they still held up. Wild stories but never typical or predictable, superb characterization, and--as we can all agree, and as evidenced by this page--gorgeous art.

You can have my copies for nothing. For me, it picked up again in the 250's then fell off a cliff post 300. Might be earlier for me overall, but there were several enjoyable single and double issues. I hated the several, cruddy uniform redesigns, Gambit and Bishop. Again, nice art, shame about the stories. Thats the wonderful thing about life. We all have different opinions. I stopped buying it around issue 400. Looked in occasionally since. Bought some. Change of creative teams. Left again. All those annoying yearly 'events' where you had to buy loads of crappy comics they could not sell otherwise. UUGH.

Wolverine panels aside (and there aren't that many in Silvestri's run), this page shows again what a great storyteller Silvestri is. Excellent catch!

An absolutely fantastic page from the Fall of the Mutants storyline. I remember Silvestri's work on the series with much fondness. It's peak nostalgia for me. Congratulations on acquiring this page. That last corner panel is just pure sniktitty awesomeness!

Wow! So much action and onomatopoeia, then you close it out with two insanely good panels with Wolverine! Sniktacular Scot!!

Well, it's Marc's line choice
All barbarian boys (girls and boys)
Making all that noise (ooh)
Scot has found new joys
Well it's Super Saber
Bring body bag
If that don't suit ya
Claw attack
Claw's out for summer
Play rough forever
Shred you to pieces

Wow, you are covering all eras in your collecting focus Xpansion! Is the cabal aware of your new turn? Congrats - this is a prime example from Silvestri!

Thanks - think of it as a 'minor' - my major is McSpidey, with a minor in UXM ;-)

Silvestri is my favorite X-Men artist so this is a real get in my opinion. Terrific images of Wolverine and having Super Sabre on there is a great bonus. Freedom Force was such an integral part of this run.

JEALOUS of this one! Hard to top as a Silvestri example from UXM, IMO. Love all the sound effect lettering, and that bottom row?! Perfection. Congrats!
