Description

Fantastic exposition page where Jack Napier reveals to Commisioner Gordon and the Gotham PD his brilliant scheme to turn Gotham against the Batman and himself into the "White Knight."

Murphy is such a master at moving your eye through the story that you really don't need the dialogue to get the gist of what's happening here, such as how Jack picks his way out of the cuffs. Murphy conveys that this Jack is sane but still menacing as he shows the shadows on his face in that narrow fourth panel on the right. It's enough to give Gordon that grizzled, dyspeptic look in the bottom panel.

You can make an argument that White Knight is the most important Batman story of the last several years and I'm happy to own a page from the key first issue. Thanks to Geoff for making this one possible.

What a wonderful example! Sean's Gordon is one of my favorite takes on the character! Beautifully laid out & drawn page!
