Design features inspirational religious text depicting faces, fields, a church and angles- all elements indicative of the artist's visionary style. Minor edge wear and trivial handling. Exc. Finster, a Georgia Baptist minister, had a vision in 1976 that called him to "Paint Sacred Art." He claimed God had asked him to produce 5,000 paintings to spread the gospel. By 1985 he had reached that goal and just kept going, numbering each painting, the present offering being #27,921. Finster collaborated w/ Michael Stipe, lead singer of R.E.M., on the cover art for the band's album Reckoning and later appeared w/his art in the bands video for Radio Free Europe. In 1985 he was commissioned by the Talking Heads to produce the album cover for Little Creatures which Rolling Stone magazine selected as the album cover of the year.
