DescriptionMike Perkins is a modern master. This page has classic gothic horror imagery that echoes the past illustrators of the title and pushes it forward narratively and visually into this new era with Ram V's writing exploring and delving deeper into the Swamp Thing mythos while telling a tale that reflects the state of humanity today.Find Mike Perkins art for sale via his rep, Ruben the DaCollector - https://www.comicbookartgallery.com/ Social/Sharing |

Swampy's eyes are cryin'
Swampy's eyes have seen a lot of loves
But they're never gonna see another one like he had with you

love that first panel. then it explodes into a smaller swamp thing among the back drop splash of the green(to show his connection to it) very mood setting. then that lst panel with a close up of his eyes. for a entity that is made up of the earth, it shows he still is connected to humanity by the eyes,

We all collect comic "art", but there are some artists, books, or runs that even non-comic people can look at and see art. Perkins on Swamp thing is one of those occasions.

Awesome page! The colorist also did a great job, but Perkins' pen and ink work would deserve an Artist's Edition.

I'm reminded of the very best of World of Darkness (Vampire: The Masquerade art). Blend of techniques for maximum pathos...

Amazing panel composition and black spotting. Wow whatta page! Looks like Brooklyn Heights or DUMBO in panel 4. Love the hairy eyeball in the last panel. I don't have your gift for lyrics so this will have to suffice.

Fabulous example from this spectacular series! Love the symmetry of the page, the amazing inks, the environments, the poses, and the closeups of our verdant hero

Look, you don't need me to tell you this is one of the nicest pages of the series, but....this is one of the nices pages in the series! When you step back and look at it as a thumbnail, you can still clearly see the 5 main panels pop in the foreground against that fully washed background and it is spectacular!

Fascinating Swamp Thing page! Love the contrast between the overall background and the dark, shadow-laden foreground panels. Perkins did an amazing job here. Has the Swamp Thing ever looked more mysterious?

I love the tonal wash underpinning the whole piece. Classic Swamp Thing motif of him carrying the unconscious character in panel two.

It's all in the eyes. I can't think of any comic book artist off the top of my head who can do eyes quite like this.

Vecna! Get away from Max!! Bad Upside Down Monster, BAD! Oh wait, that's Swamp Thing. Very cool page, man. I have enjoyed every Mike Perkins Swamp Thing page that I've seen posted on CAF, and this one is especially awesome. And yeah, the way Mike draws those eyes... Amazing.

Absolutely jaw-dropping page, Marcus! Without querstion, this qualifies as one of those rare "if you could only get one page from the run..." pages. Not only is the whole thing a beautifully constructed love letter to Berni and all the other greats that have come before (nestled on top of an inkwash foundation that is worth the price of admission by itself), but just like the natural variety you'd find in wetlands flora, there is pen, ink, inkwash, pencil... incredible. A page for the sages from a run for the ages, Marcus. Boffer of a pick up, good sir - sincere congrats!

Perkins has the uncanny ability to ink in the negative, creating magical photo-realism that is so unique, you know it's Perkins. That is the ultimate achievement of any artist.

Emotive page, no doubt, with such a sense of atmosphere. That contrast between the characters/panels vs the background...sublime stuff. Congrats!

Look at the bottom of that splash. The haunt of those eyes pierce right through the soul. Just an incredible looking piece. Perkins knocked this out of the park.
