DescriptionI've seen some early color work by Alan over the years that was stellar, but nothing current. I always find it a shame getting artists to stick to pen/ink only when they're adept in other mediums. I inquired if he'd be down for exploring some paint work, and he accepted the challenge! Of the different options I offered, he went with a great Storm & Wolverine scene, reminiscent of his short stint on the Uncanny title. Truly feel lucky that this is his first watercolor commission, and I hope to see others take advantage of that option if the opportunity arises.11x17 Social/Sharing |

Love everything about this but in particular love the scene--these powerful quiet moments really made Claremont's X-Men so different from other comics. Fantastic idea to have Davis revisit it!

Alan's work is always superb, but you're right - the color takes it to a whole new level. What a piece - congratulations!

Fantastic and great choice, you are right it reminds me exactly of the Uncanny run he did. You could not have done better with the image and the colors!

Absolutely love this commission piece. Fantastic piece drawn by one of the greats. Nod back to his older work, where it doesn't feel rushed or out of place. Congrats on this beauty!

First of all, it's a beautiful drawing and scene. But even the muted color palette is impressively gorgeous!

Wow, I just love everything about this! The color palate is just right for the dusk scene, the mood of Wolverine, pensive and calm, Storm just so alert and confident. Man this one is just on target 100% !
