Description

This was done as part of Ken's SDCC dinner (which he unfortunately had to miss due to covid, but he did join by Zoom to chat with all the collectors) and WOW! This far exceeded what I was expecting, the background work on the dragon is very cool, and his overall execution on Dany is excellent. This is one of those great examples where I'm not really sure how something is going to turn out, but I think the artist does great work so let's see what they can do with some outside the box subject matter. Interestingly, Ken did say that he prefers not to be given choices and he likes it better when he's told exactly what the collector wants; I explained my reasoning for giving choices and also pointed out that I usually get the other characters from the artist at some point down the line, and that if I gave an artist choices it's because I believe they could deliver on any of those characters (sometimes I will be specific if I feel that a style is more aligned with a particular character). It was a good conversation, one of the few times an artist has said they don't like having choices. I can say that his choice and what he put together here is stellar and I'm very happy to add this into my collection.

I think Lashley just aims to please and never wants to disappoint so the art never gets resold. Bounteous amount of linework and wash! The eye of the dragon on display as well as Drogon's eye.
