Back for another Wednesday post. This time, it's a psychopathic, mass murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy, the Joker.

A great watercolor by Barry Kitson. The colors are spectacular. Every month on Barry Kitson's Facebook page, Barry takes a suggestion list, from his fans, of characters they would like to see him draw. Every day for that month, Barry will try to draw a suggestion from the list. If he picks your suggestion, you have the first right of refusal to purchase it. You are under no obligation to purchase it.

For those that know me or even just look at my galleries, you know my go to characters, Jonah Hex and the Question. So why the Joker?? Well because someone had already suggested Jonah Hex and The Question. Aargh! With my first choices already suggested, I had to come up with alternatives. I suggested the Joker and Barry was inspired to draw it. On 9x12 board.

Barry delivers a delightfully demented Joker. That grinning evil side eye only suggests one thing...RUN!!

Kitson handles the colors very well as they add a level of subtle detail that can't be accomplished by linework. Background patterns are fantastic with just the color work.

I wasn't aware that Kitson was doing that on Facebook, but I'm glad to hear it as it's a great way to interact with the fans. I can't believe two other guys had already suggested The Question and Jonah Hex though! Still, The Joker is a fine choice and Barry killed it, so it all turned out alright for you in the end!

Great Joker by a great artist and wonderful person. Always had the greatest respect for Barry Kitson, going back to his sketch club time, oh I think I wasn't allowed to mention the club. Oops.
