It's another Wednesday art day!

I recently saw the documentary Milestone Generations. The documentary covers the formation, the rise, the fall and the rebirth of Milestone comics. In it, many of the players who worked at Milestone were interviewed, among them was Noelle Giddings. Noelle Giddings was a colorist at Milestone comics. I remember the colors in the Milestone books looking different than the other books on the shelf. I also remembered I had a great color guide by Noelle. I really had to look for it though, as it's not with most of my other art.

Original cover colors for the Overstreet's Comic Book Price Update #16 featuring Deathlok. A xeroxed copy of Denys Cowan's pencil and inks on paper mounted to a foam core board. Noelle would hand color the copy with watercolor and they would publish the cover from her colors. The colors and cover are great and it's a bad ass image of Deathlok.

It's an awesome cover! The colors are great and Deathlok looks bad ass. It's the reason why I bought it in the first place.

Wonderful style graphic design! The xerox process was new in the 1970's and repeating image was now possible! The way each layer is colored implies action and style on the cutting edge!
