Description

Wolverton pitched this strip (along with a pilot sampling for Detective Dan Dumm) to the New York syndicates in 1936. He did twelve of these "Steve Grover" strips and this is #1.

This is the very first Steve Grover strip which Wolverton refined and became Spacehawks, his first published comic work. This was published in Greg Sadowski's terrific book, Creeping Death from Neptune: The Life and Comics of Basil Wolverton v1 1904-1941 at p109 (Fantagraphics 2014).
