Description

A Rogue’s Tale Episode 9 from Season 2 aired January 8th 1994. This episode gave the back story to Rogues mysterious upbringing and her mother/daughter relationship with Mystique. This episode also focused on how she permanently took Ms Marvel’s powers and psyche.

This is known to be one of Lenore Zann’s (voice actress for Rogue) favorite episodes, both she, Jennifer Dale (Mystique voice actress, who I had the pleasure of doing a music video with years ago) and Roscoe Handford (Ms Marvel voice actress) do an amazing job of telling the story from a very classic X-Men piece of history found in Avengers Annual #10 (Rogue’s 1st appearance - 1981) and bits eventually used in Unlimited X-Men #4 regarding her boyfriend Cody (March, 1994).

This Cel features Rogue and Mystique in flight after their conflict. This Cel likely was either a few frames before or after a cut as I haven’t been able to formally match it up to any particular take that is in the series/episode but lines up fairly well with the animation piece of Rogue landing with Mystique towards end of episode.

This is certainly a piece I cherish as well as I really enjoy the history and story between Rogue and Mystique, and really love this animation series, especially this episode.
