DescriptionI first ran across Kieth's mindbending art with his book Maxx. When I see a cool new (to me) artist like that, as a Spidey fan one of my first thoughts is - wow, I wonder what that artist would do with Spidey.Well turns out Kieth did 2 issues of Peter Parker Spider-Man, so now we know. I've been loosely looking for great page from this run for a long time (only 6 pages on CAF out of what has to be ~40 and they are locked tight). This one came to auction and I was fortunate enough to win am now the caretaker. This 2 issue story arc is called Reborn and starts with a trippy baby sandman meeting sandman and Spidey gets in the mix. On this page in the left we have four panel pages. Spidey enters the scene and immediately goes to protect the child. Sandman wallops him and Spidey asks 'who is the kid'. Sandman says, "I think he's me" and in the right tall vertical 1/2 vertical splash penal we have Spidey's reaction which is somewhere between 'huh' and 'head exploding'. Take a minute and look at Kieth's treatment of Spidey here. The eyes, the shadow his head casts on his body, the hatching, his fingers. I love Kieth's spidey and am excited to get this page into the McSpidey vault. That right panel really scratched the Kieth+Spidey itch for me. Kieth's take on the character is as distinct as Todd. It shows our comfortable familiarity with the costume that we can accept a wildly different interpretation as if it was within a dreamstate.

Excellent page featuring a very unique take on Sandman, as well as a full shot of Spidey! Not gonna lie, I am really jealous about this one Scot. Congrats!
