Titans Nostalgia - Dead doesn’t actually mean gone forever does it?

My representative page for my love of the Titans (show, cartoon and comic series). These characters are rich in history and this page features a beautifully rendered STARFIRE (with big Dolly Parton hair) showing new comers Damage and Argent their archive of lost heroes, featuring Jericho (Slade Wilson’s son Joe, who passed away).

This was a very nostalgic issue in Grayson’s writing throughout the issue. Buckingham and Von Grawbadger do a great job of telling something a bit absurd, serious yet comical. “You do both know that when people die, they don’t usually come back?” This classic line fits the art and temperament of this series that came out in 1999.

I really enjoy the look of Starfire here, it’s classic mixed in with a bit of the 90’s edginess. I think the dialogue is a bit outside of itself, but works for this series and made this page a must have to go along with all my X-Men soap-opera pieces.

Buckingham did marvelous work on this series, which may be my favorite incarnation of the Titans next to the Wolfman/Perez run.
