Description

From horse faced heroes to high flying moonsaults DWJ has been tearing up the comic scene in recent years. Even when he ventures out of the comic space he still brings the same artistic intensity.

DWJ created this illustration for the Decibel flexi disc single Sigil by doom metal band Khemmis. I was immediately drawn to insane amount of detail both structurally in the ship and organically on the sea monster. I also marvel at how he can show so much movement using subtle (the rivulets of water cascading off the recently immersed monster) and not so subtle (the ship�s heel in the turbulent water).

I have included an image of the production single that was included in Decibel magazine.

Amazing illustration! The water, wall of toothy mouths, and ship are perfectly indicated. Such a well controled composition, despite the chaotic textures and shapes. So loose, but not sloppy. Thanks for posting!

The tall ship is amazing in so much detail! Our view from the water surface sees everything in motion!
