Groot and Rocket Racoon

I was there for the question from Joe, and the spikey growing "hand" in the foreground was definitely the right call. Adds some depth having it in front of Rocket's gun. A very nice pick up Ian!

Love that I have my first Rocket and Groot commison now from an artist I have admired for some time. Thank you for your hospitality while I was in town. Made that one of my favorite trips I have had in a long time.

Pretty neat he keeps a dry marker in hand for tonal work.  I guess that's why he's been a top inker for many decades.

Hey, this is pretty impressive coming from a guy who has primarily worked as an inker. Inkers often tend to draw characters looking pretty stiff, simply because pencilling muscles are not the ones they ever get to excercise. But this sketch has some nice, loose lines. I like the spontaneity in this.

Oh, and NO, this doesn't mean I want to get a commission from you, Joe, so please don't solicit me.

Great facial expressions, which is saying something since we're talking about a raccoon and a walking tree.
