All that detail on the her wardrobe is like stitchwork. The silhouettes behind her of all the bird wings almost look like tarantula legs giving her a sense of danger.

The bird resembles the Great Cormorant, which is known in New Zealand as the black shag. I wonder if this fair pirate runs the high seas in New Zealand.
I'm not sure but I am intrigued. I will be sure to ask what bird inspired this piece.
