Description

Earth X was a monumental series in my comic fandom history! The story that JP, Bill, Alex and Jim told was so satisfying to me, because it wove together so many elements of Marvel history in a delightful way. I loved how Tony Stark's dreams and inventions guide the course of the story, and this pivotal scene reveals that his Iron Avengers factory was a transformer all along! Seeing Tony wear this immense Iron Man Armor into final battle with The Celestials made me stand up and shout the first time I read it.
We lost JP in 2021, but this art is a reminder of how alive he continues to make his fans feel! What an incredible birthday present from my dad and brother! Thanks, dudes!

BEAUTIFUL page, Doc!  Man - look at that storytelling on display...  Gadzooks!  This may surprise you, but you and I have a similar affection for Earth X :) .  I remember really enjoying the first couple issues (and thinking I had a good idea of how the story was going to ultimately unfold), and then feeling the rug being pulled out from underneath me as everything spun off-course more and more with each subsequent issue.  It was AWESOME. :)  I DESPERATELY love that second panel, with the volley of armors being used as a combination of missle and infantry. Beautiful black and white storytelling here - incredible.  Congrats on such a wonderful present (your family has DYNAMITE taste! :) ) and happy birthday, Doc!!

I like all the different armors swarming out!  The transformation gives me some SD-F1 vibes.  Those thick inks by Reinhold look incredible with how much control it tookto not mess up on the buildings and how the hand is shown.

Thanks, Marcus! JP Leon was unique in many ways, including his mastery of line widths!
