DescriptionSometimes even when you think you know what you want from an artist you don’t know the piece you need until you see it… big fan of Sam Kieth.. all around no matter what he did. His unique look and abstract take on comics caught my eye a long time ago , when I started collecting OA - Kieth was on my list, and as an X-men fan a wolverine page from his MCP run was my target. I flirted with a few but never found the right one then his prices exploded and I thought it may be something I never got… then this happened and it is so much better then a MCP page. My friend ML told me he was letting this go , and I’ll be honest I read this series back in the day and it was not one of my favorites so my interest at first was luke warm.. but I was intrigued. I had questions though… since it was color and a lot of pages from the series weren’t I wanted to understand why .. and it looked like some stats.. again something I initially thought was a negative so when I asked ML my questions.. in a way only his charming self could do … he sent me a video of the page and verbally described everything going on.. this page is 100percent kieth even the colors, and even though the top part of the page is stat , Sam enhanced the stat with ink so that stat no longer looked like a negative… and to top it off Sam used black tape to create the black edge and give it more texture then simple ink would do. So it is a true mixed media piece that Sam Kieth used all kinds of artistic techniques to create an absolutely gorgeous page .. to me that makes it better then a simple pencil and ink page and captures all the talent of the artist! Those who are first to recognize genius and the pioneers of the artform get first dibs. This is a visonary's modern pop art recap of the origin of the gamma bombed Hulk. It looks like it's coming rought out of his mind to tell Wolverine. It's amazing that there is a black border frame it to make it look like a 3D diorama. Kieth's take on Wolverine is all attitude!

I haven't seen a colored Kieth page before so that makes this unique among his uniqueness.

This piece is that kid in the Breakfast Club who is unique and different in her own special way (was that Ally Sheedy)? In the end we all realize she had the most personality of them all and we collectively fall in love.
