Description

Dark Victory along with the Long Halloween are two of my favorite Batman stories. (Like a lot of us :)) This page truly is a great page to capture a lot of the book on one page. We have nearly all of the villains in two large panels Joker/Two-Face/Mr. Freeze and the gorgeous Poison Ivy. You also have what I believe is the first time in the story with Robin in costume with Batman appearing out of the shadows. For me this page has it all and very thankful to be able to add this to my collection.

As far as moments go this one is a great page. From the top panel that leads the readers eye to the uniform, to the bo staff that takes the reader attention down to the middle panels. The middle left panel -the rock formation and talking heads leading the viewers eye down and up right into the middle right panel. The ivy panel is beautiful, her curves cause the eye to snake down to the bottom panel where Batman and Robin appear, separate, but together.

In any other context the words showtime and dick would raise a few eyebrows. Its a lovely page of artwork.

Pretty subtle in how it's handled, but it looks like Robin slingshotted Ivy in the noggin!
