Description

The 'jungle girl' pulp character archetype predates comic books as a medium, so naturally there have been many of them. This particular iteration is Jana, as written by Frank Cho (who also provided cover art) and Doug Murray. Jana has temporarily put away the traditional leopard skin bikini, in favor of black leather apparently borrowed from Trinity in 'The Matrix.' But one thing hasn't changed: The perpetual need to face off against a horde of rampaging dinosaurs in a Lost World setting. Jadson lets his imagination roam free on dozens of toothy, scaled critters in a careening mass.

This is a stunning display piece! Not only does it tell a story, but the layout allows for the main section to have imagery that is an all out assault on the senses! I may have only seen something like this in the Hooky GN by Wrightson where the star of the story faces off against a double page worth of adversaries.
