Here's my pickup from the most recent Comic Art Live. I was planning on just being a spectator this time around but came across this piece and had to have it. The published cover by Zeck and Zimmelman was my favorite comic book cover as a kid and is still my favorite Punisher image to this day. Since all 5 painted covers are out of reach (Chuck if you need to liquidate, let me know. LOL), I figured this was my best bet of owning a Zeck version of this masterpiece. As I understand it, this is the only recreation Mike has ever done or will ever do of this cover. Though it was the Zimmelman airbrushing that really caught my attention as a kid, getting to see "What If? Mike Zeck inked the cover for Punisher #1" makes me equally excited as an adult collector. Wow! Congrats on this! Yes, Mike said he would only ever do recreations of the original covers once so you have the only #1 out there. I'm lucky enough to own #5 :).

Awesome! The inscription on the back would also say as much and he hasn't gone back on his word to keep them to only one recreation per cover.
