I love the Western genre, so I'm always excited whenever I see collectors post Western comic art here. It's cool that comicartboston's Two-Gun Kid commissions inspired you not only to buy some Western comic art, but to also effect some scholarship on the publishing history and share it here with everyone. Well done, Ian! I doubt we'll ever find out who the artist(s) involved were/was, but it's pretty good for such a tiny publishing house.
As I keep posting you might find out there might be a very possible source. However, I still consider myself a novice and thus will pose this research to the experts and let them pass judgement.
Dear Ian, this is a fantastic page. Many congrats! And if I may say so, I am so impressed by such fantastic passion and amazing scholarship. You rock!
Thanks CAB. Just like Rubén pointed out, your art was an inspiration for this project. Now I hope I do the rest of this right when I name the artist lol. It would be kind of cool to add artist credits to unknown art from about 70 years ago. Crossing my fingers.
Your keen eye on details will soon be part of your story, but it is all layered on a foundation of thorough research. Well done good sir.
Always love working in a systematic manner; however, it sometimes stays a work in progress as I feel this one will be.
Whoever drew this knew what they were doing. You can take apart each panel and find they they are more refined than the typical work of that era. Put together as whole, you get the story beat that leaves the page with a panel that's a cliffhanger to make you want to turn the page. A nice rarity being the last under the imprint.
The hunt for the artwork is the most enjoyable part of collecting for me. This one happened to be historically important and that is worth the hunt.

I have listened to this song so many times, but for some reason I never saw the video and it is all the more fitting. I love this song and great choice.
