DescriptionMy earliest comic book nostalgia is from the late 70's/early 80's and began with mostly DC. This was one I remember vividly. When the cover was offered for sale (long ago), I jumped on it. Tried to haggle, and the guy said "If it doesn't sell at SD Comicon, I could lower the price." Rather than risk it being sold, I agreed to the full price. I picked it up in person at Comicon and the seller said, "Yeah, you overpaid, but someday it will be worth that!" So I walked off with my cover, feeling I overpaid, but happy to have it. Stopped at Albert Moy's booth where Scott Williams happened to be sitting. He looked through my portfolio, and when he got to this piece he said - "see, stuff like this - nobody wanted when I started collecting. There were piles of it for like $25 and nobody wanted it." Yeah, I just overpaid for it (I thought to myself). Albert happened to look over Scott's shoulder and said "Oh - you have that?" I said yeah, I just got it. He said "I gave that away once. Someone bought a bunch of art from me and I just threw that in the deal." Did I mention I overpaid for it....??? Buy what you love.I wrote a short piece on my blog about the wild and crazy DC covers from this era. It's ok that you overpaid for it because there is always one piece no one else will appreciate it as much as you. You should have retorted that he should have kept it and just missed out on all the money you spent.

It's all good. I have no regrets! And it is worth more than I paid for it! ;)
