"One of the few key painted covers I ever did from the early days, and this is from the very heart of the early days," Kevin Eastman told us about this piece, and added "I don't think Heritage (or any other auction house) has ever offered one of my original paintings, and nothing as classic as this one." The issue was one of the first Turtles crossovers, guest-starring Cerebus the Aardvark, a character Eastman calls "a huge inspiration to Peter [Laird] and I to follow Dave Sim and other early underground small press publishers into the world of 'self-publishing.'"
