DescriptionBringing in the new year with art from a new artist and honestly this one was a complete surprise! An Arthur Adams page was not on my radar at all. When I saw Vines dropped some art on his page, again I wouldn’t have guessed this is what I would have left with. But when I saw this posted I jumped at the opportunity and couldn’t be happier. This page has great storytelling and details further enriched by Dexter Vines awesome inks! The use of screens throughout the panels to play out a whole other scene is pretty awesome and the claw pop to finish it off really sealed the deal for me on this page! After a certain time period in the 00's, Adams interior work was almost non existent. Every panel has his signature immense line cartoony style and Vines is pretty faithful to the Adams vision.

Interesting. We know that this entire series was done only in pencils and digitally inked. So it makes me wonder if Dex bought this page and inked it on his own,or a previous owner asked him to do live inks on it. In any case, he did a great job.

Yeah I'm gonna be honest I'm not sure! I'll have to ask how this one ended up as it is, like you had said all the other examples are pencils only then digitally inked. I definitely don't mind them but it's definitely curious!

As Adams is known for his pin up-y stuff, and rightly so, we forgot he's no slouch on the storytelling front, as evidenced here! Great top to bottom example, and of course Dexter's inks accentuate! Congrats!

Very cool Arthur Adams page! You don't see his interior work much and that's too bad. His sense of layout and composition really shine as much or more on his interiors as on his covers! Congrats!

Great pick up, Kelsey! I also was surprised to see an inked example from the series (I thought all the interiors were in pencils), but this sure turned out looking good (and there's nothing like ending up with an unexpected example from a top-tier artist! :) )! I really like the counterpoint of light and dark / clutter and space in tiers 3 and 4; how the first panels of each are a head shot from the same basic angle (light and dark), second panels are similar wider shots (cluttered / open and light/dark), and the third panels are mirrored, with the claws pointing down and the three-pronged tea/coffee splash shooting upwards (...or maybe it's my imagination, or I'm reading too much into it... :) ). Very cool grab, Kelsey! Congrats on adding an Adams!

Thanks dude! I was also shocked to pick it up, so I actually went back and asked Vines how this came to be. He basically said he got it from Adams and wanted to try his hand at inking it and had it framed in his own collection until it was sold. So the inking was an un official add on
