A nice half-page splash from the "Sensei and Student" storyline of Birds of Prey. Lady Shiva offers Black Canary an opportunity to learn under her as an apprentice, and in this page Dinah imagines what she might turn into if she accepts and ends up becoming more like Shiva (In this daydream she becomes more brutal and is referred to as The Witch Canary). Her thoughts on the next page after Shiva interrupts her daydream and insists on an answer are: "It's a dangerous question. If a great gift was offered by a bad source, would you have the willpower to say no? Could you reject it out of hand or would you just for a moment...would you be tempted?"
I really enjoyed every time Shiva popped up in this series because of the dynamic between her and Black Canary. Dinah would reject this offer of apprenticeship for now but around issue 90 of this series she would accept under the condition that she and Shiva swap places for 1 year to learn from each other's life experiences. So Dinah would undergo Shiva's training regimen in Vietnam while Shiva would join the Birds of Prey under the moniker "Jade Canary". And although I kind of like the Witch Canary design, this is not how Dinah ended up after her training (She left early and liberated a young girl named Sin who became her adoptive daughter for a while)
