Description

This was a "tryout" piece submitted while we were searching for new artists on Gen13.
I believe it was eventually used as a pin-up at some point, although I'm not certain which comic so it's currently listed here as unpublished.

Wow! Did you guys have someone at WS do a blueline? I did do this and another piece as a try out for Scott Dunbier, but Ed Benes won out. I did get to do a fill in on issue #51 but like Adam Hughes and Legionnaires #7, was bummed that I didn't get to draw them in costume. Looking at this I think I need to shrink Grunge's head. I was thinking about inking it as a blue line as well and maybe make a print. As far as I know the pieces were never printed.

So what's unique on this one is Armando Durruthy inked on vellum, separate over the art. As far as the montly book it was a tough competition for the gig but I'll say I personally was (is) a huge fan of yours from your time on Legionnaires and was happy to have you in the running!
