Description

Pages of Locas is a new addiction of mine, so when the opportunity came up to get a Maggie focused page on the low end of the current range, I took it.

Some neat images of Maggie, as Izzy crashes with her for the night, bringing her signature creepiness with her.

If you break it down, the page has a nice visual rhythm as Jaime Hernandez adds some element on the right side panels that are the led into from the left panels. Panel 2 mirrors panel 1, but the tile grid is opposite of the open space. Panel 3 mirrors 4 as a play of shadows. Panel six's "Zawwww" balloon tail tangents across back to panel 5. The insecurity seen in the face in panel 7 results once more in the grid of the sheet that lock her down on the couch with that spooky shadow overhead.

Not many artists could pull off the 8-panel per page structure, by Jaime does it so effortlessly in these early Vol. 2 L&R issues. Congrats!
