Original illustration by J. Allen St. John (1940). Charcoal, pen and ink with white highlight on paper.

Signed "St. John" in upper left corner.

Mounted to illustration board with printer's inscriptions in blue pencil in lower margin.
Titled by artist in pencil in lower left margin--crossed through.

Condition Notes: Wheat paste "banner" along upper third of paper and paper residue in upper margin of illustration board. Paper is lifted slightly from illustration board at center of left half of image. Vertical crease at image center.

Paper size: 12.5 x 18”
Board size: 16 x 21”
