Great! And new fun fact I didn't know about you. Unplugged is one of my favorite albums.

Nirvana's Unplugged strayed from what people were expecting but the rawness and vulnerability of their performance (especially their cover on Where did you Sleep Last Night) was just beautiful.

Wow.  I'm not sure I've seen this before but I love it.  The music/ bands that came out of the 90's were incredible.  It's so sad knowing a lot of those musicians are gone now.  I had a dentist appointment the day Kurt and Tupac were pronounced dead and heard about it on the radio (the before times, lol) in the car.  It was pretty surreal and two moments I'll probably never forget.  Congrats on this piece, let me know if it ever needs a new home. 😉

That is one unique and successful commission!  So many surprising choices to me, like background shadows that obscure the outline of the figure and a passive pose, but it's so evocative.  I can hear the music from the album just looking at it

I'm so happy 'cause art day I found my friends
They're in my head
Take my money, that's Cobain, drawn just for you
Broke our mirrors
All day sketching D Dub J, is all I care
And I'm not scared
Lightning doodles in a daze
'Cause he’s art god

Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah

Oh man... wonderful piece. Thinking about Kurt still makes me sad. They were my absolute favorite too.

This is fantastic, Victor.  Kurt Cobain was always my "secret choice" of commission, should I ever be so lucky to make DWJ's list, so I gasped out loud when I saw this one pop up.  -Outstanding- choice.

And what a compelling portrait it is, too.  We all know and love DWJ's work for its dynamic and explosive action, of course, and that's what I "expected" when putting Kurt and Daniel together in my head.  But this is something unique, different, just as powerful, and twice as "true"; this is Kurt as a vulnerable raw nerve, as the human in pain, exposed for all to see.  Kurt Cobain "Unplugged", by DWJ (if you will).

The backgrounds are a shout-out to all those out-of-focus "grunge sensibility" publicity photos of the early 90's, of course, and they are stunning.  They also lend an "everything's on fire around him" feel, which really adds another level of weight to the foreground figure trying desperately to shoulder the weight or come to terms with all of this.  This is proof positive that a single tear can sometimes speak louder than the roar of a left-handed Fender Mustang through a fuzz-box and stack of Marshalls.  Another incredible commission piece by DWJ, Victor, and you sincerely have my most heartfelt congratulations.

Jason! Thank you for describing it so eloquently as it is exactly how I feel about this piece! I truly hope you will be able to get a DWJ commission soon as I know he would kill it, especially a full Nirvana commission! Thank you for sharing!
